On Saturday, Manchester United announced that they had signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus for a reported fee of £85 million ($114 million). The Portuguese forward is expected to make his Premier League debut on Sunday against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in European football over the past decade, scoring more than 300 goals in all competitions during his time with Real Madrid and Juventus. He also holds records for the most goals scored in Serie A (279) and La Liga (266), as well as being the first player to score 500 goals in Europe's top five leagues.
However, Ronaldo's debut may not go according to plan for Manchester United fans. On Saturday, Arsenal midfielder Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang passed data to Ronaldo during a pre-match press conference ahead of their meeting with the Red Devils. This came after Aubameyang was asked about the possibility of playing alongside Ronaldo.
Aubameyang responded by saying that he would be happy to play alongside any striker, but added that he was excited to work with Ronaldo. "I'm looking forward to working with him," Aubameyang said. "He's a great player, and I'm sure we can learn from each other."
Despite this positive response from Aubameyang, it remains to be seen whether or not Ronaldo will have a successful debut for Manchester United. However, with the club currently struggling in the Premier League and facing tough competition from teams such as Liverpool and Chelsea, Ronaldo could provide a much-needed boost to the team's performance.
